Why become a member?
A Precedence in Scripture
The teaching of the New Testament implies a special relationship between members of the local church. (Acts 2:47; 4:4; 5:14; 6:1,7; 9:31; 11:21; 16:5).
A Powerful Picture
Jesus referred to the church as His body. The local church membership is a way for a watching world to see the unity and diversity of the body of Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:27-28)
A Practical Commitment
Christians are to demonstrate love and care for one another. The membership commitment is a place where those relationships should happen. (Galatians 6:2; Colossians 3:13)
A Place of Protection
We all need the accountability that comes with partnering together as members. This willingness to humbly seek help from one another is essential. (1 Corinthians 5:12-13, Hebrews 10:24-25)
A Purposeful Way
Through membership, the body can identify those who are dedicated to the mission and beliefs of CenterPoint. (Galatians 6:10; Hebrews 13:17)
