Have you ever heard the phrase “Does this spark Joy?” With a podcast guest (Samuel Romine), the guys chat a little about the phrase and discuss how it relates to our CenterPoint Bible Church family. Check out the show-notes below!
Spark the Joy… of God!
I. Pointing to Jesus Christ
a. John 12:32 “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
b. John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
II. Rightly handling the Word of Truth
a. II Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
III. Reaching our community
a. II Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
b. Luke 15:10 “Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
IV. Our friendliness and connection
a. Hebrews 10:22-24 “let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works”
V. Spiritual Growth
a. Ephesians 4:12-13 “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”
We are called to “Spark the Joy” of God, and this is how we obediently live at CenterPoint Bible Church.
Remember the old saying, “Home is where you hang your hat.”
No matter where we gather as a body of believers, we are home.
